(The Study of Threes)

The following is a continuation of the discussion from the 3-shaped Universe page 1. On the first page we started off with discussing three shapes of the Universe and then how the shape of the Universe may have impressed itself on our biology. Recall that topics about such consider whether or not the Universe is cyclical. A cyclical Universe might well be evidenced in our cyclical biological rhythms. The foregoing page was a very general discussion as will be the present one. In other words, don't expect definitive proof.
Biological rhythms ebb and surge throughout the body. When browsing through the following list, keep in mind the connection to be made between time of occurrence with respect to the three principal solar irradiation "phases" of Dawn~ Noon~ Dusk, because in so doing you may be better equipped to appreciate how a "three"-patterned influence occurring at a rapid pace in centuries past during the time of an accelerated spinning Earth, could have been impressed upon the human species. Yet, don't overlook that prior to the development of the complex human organism with these cycles, our more primitive beginnings were similarly influenced by solar/lunar (etc.) effects. One such effect may very well have been the adoption of a triplet codon system in DNA. While it is not customary to consider RNA, DNA, or Proteins to be cyclic occurrences, we should do so in the sense that they are wide-spread cyclic occurrences related to enormous scales of time. In other words, RNA, DNA, and Proteins are merely species of life forms that have had a successful life cycle due to diversity of application, but they are nonetheless life forms that may also evolve in response to environmental circumstances to the extent that present forms of these products are no less doomed to an extinction.
Some of the most important body cycles are as follows:
The Sleep/Wake cycle: | Controlled by the brain, is the most familiar biological rhythm in man. It influences the timing of many of the body's other functions. Dawn/Dusk |
Body Temperature: | Regulated by the hypothalamus, varies each day, regularly falling to its lowest point during normal sleep, between 1 AM and 7 AM. Dawn... |
Oxygen Consumption: | Increases during the normal peak hours of the body's activity- whether or not activity is present. |
Heart beats: | Normally occur 75 times a minute, but the rate drops slightly, to a low point between 10 PM and 7 AM. after Dusk |
Adrenal Gland Secretion: | Dips during sleeping hours, but rises before waking to prepare the body for the day's activities. Dawn |
Kidney Excretion: | Of such waste products as potassium and sodium reaches its peak during the middle of the day. Noon... |
Reproduction: | Is synchronized to a lunar schedule, with the ovaries producing ova in cycles of about 28 days. Pregnancy usually lasts 270 days from fertilization to birth. |
Blood Count: | Has its own rhythms; the number of red and white corpuscles falls to a daily low in the morning hours. Dawn... |
Cell Division: | Occurring throughout the body, takes place most frequently during the late evening. after Dusk |
Many of these rhythms are so pronounced that time could almost be measured by them:
- The minutes by the pumping heart.
- The days by the rising and falling of body temperature or of adrenal secretion.
- The months by the cycles of menstruation and pregnancy.
Our references to the label "clock-like rhythms" can be quite useful in helping most people to appreciate that the pulse of the heart normally beats 75 times a minute, but it doesn't give any real specificity when we use such a label as "regular tempo" when describing such views as the lungs filling with air, or such a label as "certain times of the day" when referring to the brain thinking more clearly. Generalized references permit the usage of generalized inferences that can be arbitrarily applied to suit personal views for any number of reasons. In other words, a variety of individualized measurement systems are used, as well as those said to be most scientifically accurate. In both cases we have systems which become accepted as agreeable parameters whose users may come to reject the other system as lacking in this or that quality. Yet it is rarely suggested that perhaps both systems should be replaced with a different type of measurement system that can not be devised with a larger appreciation of life's processes in mind, unless examples of rhythms collected from a multiple of disciplines are compared.
It is said that many of the body's rhythms seem to be timed to some period of the 24-hour clock which seems to predominate in nature. Humans are said to need a regular (usually nightly) period of rest, yet even when they sleep, the electrical impulses in the brain have specialized rhythms. However, cycles that appear to be longer than the 24-hour period are also evident in humans. Take for example the lunar schedule followed by many marine creatures that has a counterpart in the human female Menstrual cycle.
Not only is it recognized that the Moon has a considerable effect on the ocean as is observed by the change in tides, but is has been claimed (by Sando Fuenczi) that the erotic genital secretion of females has an oceanic basis: The odor of the vagina comes from the same substance (Tri-methlamine) as the decomposition of fish gives rise to. (I always knew there was something fishy about women.) Thus it could be said that the birth of a child from the ocean-linked womb is but another symbolic re-creation of an earlier event that the human experienced in its evolutionary transition from some simple life form(s) in the Ocean, to a land-based form of life.
As an extension of this idea, the "breaking of the water" during childbirth may symbolize an earlier environmental event in which the ocean waters retreated (after overflowing on land?) to a point which forced some aquatic life form(s) to adapt to the change or become extinct. Related to these ideas is the view that when sperm travels "upstream" in search of an egg to fertilize, this is similar to Salmon traveling upstream to spawn in the place of their birth. (Salmon may spend 1, 2, or 3 years in the ocean before swimming upstream to spawn in the place of their birth.)
It is perhaps due to humanity's egocentricities (eccentricities?) that, once the association between the lunar schedule and female Menstrual cycle had been made in the days of old, (and is being discovered anew by young girls today,) a type of matriarchal viewpoint/consciousness became used as a distinctive formulation to be adhered to and advocated as a "Universal Truth," by claiming other biological rhythms can be best understood if their frequency of occurrence are mathematically derived as representing variations of the female Menstrual cycle...
With this, I am trying to point out that the usage of a personalized measurement system can sometimes conceal one or more other numerical relationships which have a reasonable accuracy for useful application.
Yet, no matter how or what rhythms are measured, it almost goes without saying that they must work in concert. If the cycles get out of step/sync, as they do for workers who change from a day shift to a night shift, the resulting strain can sometimes lead to irritability and lapses in judgment. This also is true for some workers who are required to work any one of the three typical shifts on a day by day basis.
Another example frequently cited by aircraft travelers to different continents, particularly between Eastern and Western destinations, is the fatigue associated with moving into a different time zone. What needs to be considered from a different perspective, aside for the ideas promoted by various philosophies related to harmony, equilibrium, bio-rhythms, etc., and cited as reasons to account for various illnesses, mental disorders, disenchantments, criminal behavior, etc., is that all these philosophies are, in varying measures, descriptions of an underlying 1~ 2~ 3 maturational development sequence. They are all singularly-focused-on attributes of an unrecognized developmental process. These attributes are culturally individualized, gender individualized, age individualized, occupation individualized, race individualized, education individualized, etc...
It must be said that the biological rhythms we observe today in a variety of species, are not necessarily like those of the distant past. Not only is this due to differences in type of life forms, but the rate of solar irradiation would have been different due to a faster spinning Earth. In comparison, our present biological clocks will no doubt differ from future humans (if we survive). Nonetheless, because a developmental progression can be mapped out by using a bit of our genetic material, this stands as another example that human cognition may also proceed along a developmental pathway that can be mapped. This developmental pathway, I believe, is a pattern-of-three.
By fashioning the two above arches into triangular "trellises" whose points represent the three "moments" (dawn~ noon~ dusk) of the Sun, and place the flower, DNA, and biological rhythms along the rim of the triangle with a correspondence to the three "moments," we can more easily identify biological growth with respect to these moments through vast expanses of time. Not only past and present, but through th future with a measure of predictability. While some readers can easily visualize placing the flowers and biological rhythms along the edges of the trellises in relationship to the Sun's three "moments," they have difficulty doing so with the DNA information because of associating the point of the triangle with a position of superiority. This is not the intent of the triangle image. The triangle simply is a basic line drawing of the solar path along these three "moments," as is shown on:
http://www.threesology.org/3s-hypothesis-3.php
You need only to recognize that if you take a look at the DNA information on the above arch, you can recognize that much of the information is already presented in "clumps" of occurrence that can be placed into a generalized portrayal of appearance in terms of a portrait of humanity along a scale of beginning and end to the human race. We know that Africans came first, with respect to the out-of-Africa hypothesis, whereby the "clump" of African DNA would be placed at the "Dawn" corner of the triangular trellis. Asians supposedly came sometime thereafter, so the parallel representation of Asian DNA would be placed somewhere after the African DNA. Following this would be the European DNA. Because I have placed the (Indo-) European segment near the peak of this triangle does not mean that this is the case in actuality. It is only an approximation for illustrative purposes. As for the rest of the DNA samples, simply place them between the African and European DNA points of appearance as you see fit in this generalized portrait. Perhaps an abbreviated diagram would be of some further assistance:
The usage of a "mirror image" or "shadow" trellis which depicts the phases of the moon in conjunction with the solar trellis, could possibly provide us with a far more accurate prediction on the demise of humanity in terms of natural rates of degradation.
Since humanity is a biological organism affected by environmental circumstances, humanity as we presently know it, will eventually become extinct unless we take steps to "upgrade" the genetic software to make it less susceptible to viruses, memory loss, and deterioration through the standard multiple copy program that it presently uses. The deterioration of the genetic code is the result of its close connection with the changes in the environment that are decaying as a result of the Earth's rate of rotation slowing and the Sun's expansion. For example, if you take a single cell and slowly deplete its environment of nutrients in a petri dish, it will adapt to its circumstances. Eventually however, it dies. Earth is humanity's petri dish.
The newest theory on continental drift and the development of the world's land masses is offered by Professor John J.W. Rogers (of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Dr. M. Santosh (of Kochi University in Japan):
A primeval super-continent dubbed "Columbia" began to break up about 1.5 billion years ago, and its fragments moved around the Earth independently for several hundred million years.
About a billion years ago, the fragments came together again to form a new super-continent, called Rodinia. Rodinia lasted until about 700 million years ago before it too broke into several fragments.
These fragments moved independently until 250 million years ago, when the super-continent Pangea formed. Pangea then began to break up almost immediately to form the world's present continents.
Now contrast this new three-patterned theory with the older three-patterned theory. You may notice that the two combined theories offer us a before and after description continental drift and land mass development:
The older theory of continental drift is typically accompanied by a picture displaying a 1~ 2~ Many configuration. It is thought that at one time in the distant past that there existed a single grouping of all the continental masses that we of today label as Pangaea. After so many millions of years, this singular land mass broke into two continental groupings called Laurasia and Gondwana Land. After many more millions of years, we of today acknowledge a third formation of Many continents, even though the word "Many" could be substituted with other labels such as 'a Few', 'Some', 'Several', etc., or be given a specific numerical designation indicating a larger quantity than two. In any case, whether we use words, numbers, or some other symbols to designate another grouping formation, the fact still remains that the human mind has again used an overall three-patterned representation of an idea. And if we look to the future break of the continents due to continued continental drift, the designation does not change into a fourth representation. This same phenomena takes place in other areas such as in how we catalogue clothing sizes, to give but one example. We have the initial 3-patterned Small ~ Medium ~ Large, but there is no separate individualized fourth designation. Instead we simply repeat ourselves by developing another 3-patterned reference which is an extension of the third item in the first listing. Hence, we have X-large~ XX-large~ XXX-large. This form of thinking can be found in the counting sequences of primitive peoples in their attempts to develop words that represent numerical quantities. |
With respect to the developmental processes of geologic formations that have occurred on the Earth over millions of years, it is of some interest to point out that the human mind frequently portrays the three-patterned "One ~ Two ~ Many" land masses configuration in a variety of forms. We should consider this recurring usage of a three-patterned configuration as a type of basic human mental pattern that represents a fundamental evolutionary- design "plan" (schematic) due to an environmentally-influenced genetic predisposition. No doubt continental drift, as a geological process affecting biological life, may have indeed played a role in the genesis of this human trait, as it did in the influence of designing environmentally-specific life forms to occupy selective niches.
And if we take a few steps back from the Earth, we recognize that the processes of continental drift are affected by the rotation rate of the Earth. A few more steps backwards helps us to recognize that our solar system rotates in another fashion presently interpreted as cyclical, around the Milky Way Galaxy. To get a grasp on this three-patterned "cyclical fashion" of Galaxy~ Solar System~ Earth process, let me provide you with a an example that could possibly be extrapolated into solar and galactic events with a distinguishing occurrence of overlap.
The Milankovitch theory of (Earth) orbital variation to account for glacial and inter-glacial periods involves three criteria:
The precession of the equinoxes which varies with a period of roughly 23,000 years. (Some estimates say approximately 26,000 years.)
The tilt (or obliquity) of the Earth's axis which averages a period of about 41,000 years. (Some estimates say approximately 42,000 years.)
The eccentricity of the orbit which varies with a period near 100,000 years. (some estimates say 96,000 years)
When these processes are taken separately, these variations are said to be small. But when these forces are put together, they reinforce one another to the extent of being sufficiently able to cause significant redistributions of solar heating between latitude belts or hemispheres. In other words, these three variations reinforce their individualized effects through a process of overlapping over a time period consistent with the duration of their specific qualities inherent in the separate processes.
Different types of process, whether we are speaking of geophysical, atomic, Cosmological, biological, etc., may be greatly accelerated or slower than these three (Earth) orbital variations that are considered quite useful in helping us to understand glacial and inter-glacial periods. If these three processes can be shown to overlap with other (three-patterned or otherwise) singular events on a macro ~ midro ~ or micro scale, a recurrence of overlapping three-patterned processes will further humanity's understanding of our past and future development. (The effects of these three events in an idea that is considered in the book "Humanity's Descent"- The Consequences of Ecological Instability, written by Rick Potts.)
When we couple the three modes of the Milankovitch theory to the proposed idea of three overlapping events occurring with an accelerated revolving Earth as it slows down, namely:
- 1-patterned total solar irradiation of a fast spinning Earth.
- 2- patterned Night/Day sequence of a slowing Earth.
- Triple stroboscopic irradiation effect by a further slowing of Earth.
these processes no doubt had an accentuating affect on biological development in general, and on the advent of the hominid line of descent, specifically. Additionally, we can couple these events to three other types of variation with respect to the Earth's rotation:
- Secular, (friction from Earth's tidal bulge.
- Periodic, (seasonal changes and regular events.
- Irregular, (turbulent core/mantle interactions).
Whereas one might consider these three variations as a perspective resulting from taking a step closer to the Earth, a step away from the Earth provides a view of another three-patterned event:
- The Earth spins on its axis.
- The Earth rotates around the Sun.
- Our solar system revolves within a revolving galaxy./LI>
In each of these examples we can see a process of overlapping which, when each process is taken separate may exhibit small variations of influence, but when taken together, the individual processes are greatly increased in magnitude of influence. In some instances overlapping may be obscured by the language labels we employ to describe individual processes, sequences, events, etc., because such singular processes may provide a reinforcement of a strongly held conviction such as the old view that the Sun revolved around the Earth.
Other singular events and the overlapping thereof into a three-patterned configuration can easily be obscured and effectively rationalized into a state of non-consequence, obscurity, or remain invisible, regardless of obviousness (like the fairy tale about the child exclaiming that the King has no clothes while loyal subjects keep their mouths shut about his nudity). If the dominant views of the culture in question are condensed, abbreviated, and symbolized to uphold a particular religious, political, or scientific perspective that effectively reinforce one-another through the variations of agreement, opposition, and concession to avoid suspicion of over-indulgence through submission.
Such is the state of affairs with respect to Democracy and its two-party system. The National Science Foundation gets money from the government to supply Grants to scientists who will retreat from opposing a two-party system (publicly,) as long as they care to be considered for further Grants. No less, The religious sector supports the continuance of a two-party system so long as the government upholds their individualized right to worship their own antiquated two-patterned ideas as they see fit. Such support is a form of back-scratching even when evidence arises to support the truth of the necessity for changing the structure of the government to be more consistent with the dominant pattern co-existing in religion and science. This pattern is a pattern-of-three as evidenced in the New Testament and the Scientific analysis of atoms, genetics, physiology, geology, anthropology, mathematics, philosophy, etc...
